ALL FILM STUDENTS!
Please watch and comment below on how Robert Rodriguez has impacted independent filmmaking as it stands today and what this "Ten Minute Film School" has taught you.
I don't know much about Robert Rodriquez, but from I saw much of what the video was talking about is what we use today in modern film making. The continuous shots he describe are what film makers use today to save on money and time. The video was just a recap on ways to save on time, and money in film making. Also it was about making decisive decisions, and imagining the finished product before you even take the shot.
That's really amazing how Robert Rodriquez did all of this. He made a really low budget film look like it had a high budget. He made it look like he spent a lot of money and time into the film. In reality, he saved money and time. He didn't need to spend a whole bunch of money for the film, he did it with a low budget, and it still came out looking good. The shots came out fantastic, and everything ran really smooth. It shows independent filmmakers that they (or we), do not need to spend so much money into one film. We can have a low budget, and still have it coming out looking really good. Money sometimes doesn't have to be a factor in filmmaking, it all just depends on the decisions you make and the way you perceive it.
i think robert is one of the artist's. He used everything he had to make his dreams come to life! Nobody these days would do so much to do bring their dreams to reality. Most people would find something they like and let it pass after a few days. But robert is different! instead of finding a past time, he took a dream and made it a goal! anything can be done with enough integrity. With the little money he had, he turned into an artist. Hopefully this will be an enlightened era of artists? we could only hope...
It seems like his use of continuous shots to lower cost has made many modern films possible. Most high-budgit films like LotR and Avatar would be way more expensive were it not for revolutionary film makers like Rodriguez. If Rodriguez hadn't done his movies in this fashion; would LotR have been able to afford the special FX that they did?
never heard of robert rodriquez but he has got some skills. motivation is key and nothing can stop you if you are determined. these are cheap and effective. i love the way he films and i'll pick up on some of these skills.
Well this first part was very cool as welll my favorite part was the bus scene i thought it was very cool and very cost effective to use as little scenes as possible not re takes that was AWESOME!!
Being one of my most idolized directors and producers, I've found through this video and others that Robert Rodriguez has definitely found many ways around spending large amounts of money on films and still makes them amazing. I really look up to him as well as Quentin Tarantino whom he often makes great selling films with. They are both geniuses in the film industry.
